Call Catholic Services. Your State Welfare or DHHR offices will have a listing of all childcare providers that are provided through the state or area your in. Check with your local church groups also, they provide daycare for young children, free or at minimum cost

Call your local department of family and children services and see if the child care program assistance is still available. I'm not certain if this is just so parents can work or if it is only given for parents who are currently enrolled in a technical or local college to further education. Either way they should be able to help.

There is several programs that can offer you assistance. Treasure House is one. I don't know if you have that in your area but they take your income into consideration and you could get free-day care. Also you can see your public assistance office and they would properly guide you in the right direction. They will show you what services you could use in your area. You could also call a few day care providers in your area and ask them if they offer any help to low income families. Goodluck wih your search!

DES will pay for the child care provider of your choice. All you have to do is prove that you are low income, ask around to child care providers if they are DES certified (most are), and DES will pay for it! The nice thing about this is, you won't be forced to put your child in some white trash, skummy daycare. I new a girl who's mom actually went down to DES and got herself certified just so she could stay home and watch her grandbabies! DES paid her to provide food, diapers, juice, etc for her own grandchildren!

There are programs that will help you pay for childcare if you are working or are a student. I used one of these when I went back to college, and it helped so much. Ask at your local health dept. about programs like that in your area. You have to keep on your toes though. You MUST keep your appointments and fill out all the forms and keep them updated or you will be dropped from the program. Once you're dropped, it's nearly impossible to get back on. Check it out though. You've paid your taxes, use the programs!
