Why would you be eating plain corn starch?

Playing along... it does have calories like anything else you eat. It probably will leave a nasty coating in your mouth. But when it hits the hydrocloric acid bath that is the inside of your stomach, it will probably be digested just like anything else. Corn starch is used as an ingredient in a lot of antacids, but i'm not sure if it is a binder or is used to raise the pH.
