My Mum amd Dad used to put butter on our burns!! How bads that?? Cream on top of the milk for styes and wiping our eyes with used cold tea bags for conjunctivitus were other favourites!! Sounds like we were abused doesnt it really!! Lol!!! I remember them working though!! I remember my Nan putting parafin on my brothers wart on his hand, it went but I am not sure if it was to do with the parafin!! Will carry on watching this question as I am sure there will be some fascinating stuff to read!! Cheers xxx

Rub mud on a bee sting and it will make the stinger come out, whiskey and honey to clear out congestion, or paper bags dipped in white vinegar to pull the heat out of a sunburn and turn it into tan (this really works)!

My grandmother would tell mom to cut an onion in half and place it on my chest to cure my asthma. Didn't do anything besides make me smell like a bloomin onion.

She also recommended a "mud pack" for sprained ankles, the mud consisted of cow poop, algea from the stock pond, and cornmeal. It didn't do much good either and smelled horrific. Thank god mom didn't pay much attention to her "cures" after the onion failed, lol!

l. Place black pepper or spider web on cuts.
2. pee in the tub and step into the pee and it cures athetic foot fungus. My sister told me this one. per her father in law. says it works.
3.If you have a stye on your eye lid. Place saliva on it. (Must be saliva from when you first wake up before you brush your teeth. Told to me by my teacher from Russian backgroud. It does seem to work. Probably the enzymes in your mouth helps.

My grandmother wouldn't allow my mother to take a bath during "that time of the month" stating that it would make her infertile. LOLOL

That, and mustard seed and salt in a bath will cure your cold. Not.
