Hitler went into Poland because the world had appeased him time and time again. The world allowed him to go into Austria, The world allowed him to go into Slovakia. He believed that the world would allow him to go into Poland without any response.

There is no comparison to why Hitler went into Poland and Bush going into Iraq. If you want to compare Bush to something you can compare Bush to the Allies who responded and went to war with Germany when Hitler did enter Poland

He invaded Poland for the natural resources it had. Why did he do it when he did? Because he could. He correctly calculated that the rest of Europe's past strategy of appeasement would not stop him in time to prevent him from seizing it, and Poland had a very weak army at the time. Ironically, the Warsaw ghetto later staged an uprising in which they maintained control over a few square blocks for longer than it took Nazi Germany to seize the whole of the country. While Poland's treaties with other countries including the UK caused them to declare war on Germany, they couldn't stop Hitler because they had waited too long.

I fail to see the connection to current Iraq, but 1990s Iraq has an obvious similarity when Saddam seized Kuwait. The difference was that the US would not stand for appeasement, and subsequently expelled his military from there. If we had been like 1930s Europe, we would have let Saddam keep Kuwait like Hitler kept Czechoslavakia, and declared war only after he had seized Saudi Arabia.

So Hitler went there because it was the next step in his plan for world domination, and was an easy conquest to secure natural resources.

I can't believe these answers. No Poland was not the first country to fall under Hitler. However, it was the straw that broke the calmels back. Because Hitler took Poland, England went to war. Less we remember, the more we forget.

Look at your map of Europe.

Hitler wanted to eventually invade Russa - and Poland unfortunately was the only country inbetween Germany and Russia - just like it does today.

While he could have gone around Poland to eventually attack Russia - it would not have been the shortest route to take.

The Russians attacked Poland on its Eastern border two weeks after Hitler had attacked it on its Western border.

This may have been the reason why Hitler waited until l941 to attack Russia - rather than attacking Russia right after Poland fell one month after it was attacked on September l, l939.

As the first test of his new army, he needed a sure thing. They needed time and experience before feeling ready to tackle France. It was a good test for their army, from soldiers to commanders to general staff.

It was also a good way to gauge the seriousness of the French and British in honoring their commitments to Poland.

Poland held a portion of the old Prussian Empire, which was a German State. The whole reason for his consolidation of power, at the start was to create an ethnic homeland for the germanic peoples, first and foremost. He believed the Jews needed to leave, and if they would not, then they would die. It was all about ethnic unity and ethnic cleansing.

easily, we were efficiently attacked by technique of Afghanistan. Al Qaeda became there and supported by technique of the Taliban. The Taliban knew that al Qaeda wanted to attack us, and a minimum of tacitly gave their blessing. We were no longer justified in invading Iraq, even though it actually became no longer heavily analogous to the Nazi invasions of Poland and Czechoslovakia. Your denial of the 9/11 attacks is in accordance with lack of know-how and is appalling. Seven of the nineteen did not live to inform the tale. declaring that is so does no longer make it so.

Hitler went to Poland because he invaded it for the children. He was doing a selective breeding thing with only the best and most beautiful people. The problem was that not all the babies were pretty, some had defects, so he saw how pretty the polish babies were and went to take them to for his perfect world of DOMINATION.

Poland was seen by the 3rd Reich as 'low hanging' fruit. It took a month? to overrun the country. Why would you pick the hardest country to expand your influence?
