Hi. The skin on the face can be more sensitive and or the musk is reacting with another product used on your face. Does the eczema looking rash itch, have raised whelps? Regardless, it sounds like urticaria which is an allergic reaction and in this case more specifically contact dermatitis because the occurrence happens with the musk coming in contact with your skin.As a possible aphrodisiac, try putting this musk on your wrists, chest, and behind your knees. Scents tend to waif upwards anyway. If the rash reoccurs in these other places, take 25 mg of Benadryl (antihistamine) that interferes with the allergic response but can cause sedation in many. Then discontinue the musk. Each reaction tends to get worse than the first. Is there the possibility to dilute this musk? It's worth a try I guess. Have a great year and good luck on your intention

There are many types of allergic reactions. Each person is different. My mother would have a reaction by just smelling it, only it would affect her breathing, closing off her throat and making her cough.

I wouldn't use it at all since you seem to break out with it. Maybe your reaction is because that spot remembered the last reaction even though you put it on a different spot. You could see a dermatologist to find out for sure. Here are a couple of websites with some interesting things on them:

Perfume oils, are diluted with a suitable solvent to make the perfume more usable. This is done because the undiluted oils (natural or synthetic) contain high concentrations of volatile components that will likely result in allergic reactions and possibly injury when used on skin.

http://www.east-westfragrance.com/oils.htm This website states that Perfume Oils contain absolutely NO alcohol, ethanol or water. They are pure, concentrated perfume oils and evaporate naturally giving your skin a softer, smoother feeling. Our Perfume Fragrance Oils keep their fragrance for years and last in the bottle much longer than brand name perfumes. There are no fillers or alcohol to spoil or evaporate. Many people who have allergies and sinus problems have found they are allergic to the alcohol and ethanol. They can wear our ALCOHOL FREE Designer Fragrance Oils with little or no reaction. Some perfume manufacturers use ethyl alcohol, which is poison to some skin types.

Quit using it. It's too strong. You may be reacting to inhaling it, rather than to contact with your skin.
