I had root treatment done on one of my tooth and the filling then fell out. The tooth behind it also had a filling and it fell out. I can hardly eat or drink with those teeth as its so sore. When I look in my mouth the places where the filling has fallen out - the gum - looks black. I have been told by a family member it cant be rotten gum its left over filling but I dont know. I dont want to go to my dentist because all he does is moan and he isnt very nice. Every single thing he has done to my mouth hasnt worked. So can I just leave and and bear the pain or should I go and see the dentist??

Hey dudette... sounds painful... If your not happy with your dentist then you don't have to see that particular one,
I'm assuming your seeing an NHS dentists ! Try giving that NHS Direct a call & tell them you need it sorting asap as your obviously in pain, they should be able to give you a number of a local NHS walk in centre that has a specialist dentist dept and they should put you right, also ask at the walk in centre for a list of NHS Dentist in your area & find yourself a better dentists... remember your the patient and you shouldn't settle for anything less than the best. To answer your question... No don't bear the pain and No dont go to your dentist.

good luck

Go and see another dentist.. Now days the new fillings they have are only the white color.. So it blends in with your teeth as if you never had a filling. If the dentist did your filling correctly there shouldnt be any black spots on your teeth nor should the filling come out unless you picked or messed with it really badly. If hes moaning and lecturing you in that way then go somewhere else. Where a different dentist is more concered about you then running his mouth making you feel scared to see him.

If it was a root treatment it was probaly a temp filling, just untill you could get your crown. These fall out sometimes because they are only ment to last about a month. You can go to the drug store and get something called Dent tech (temp filling) It will give you directions on how to do it. With a root canal the inside does look black because your tooth is dead now. If your dentist is rude i would get a new dentist ASAP! Good luck =0)

I think you should go to another dentist and get a second opinion...you could always go to a dental school..like Guys or Kings hospital. If dont sort the problem out, the tooth behind will get decay and it will become a bigger problem. The tooth taht had RCT will be dead and so you shouldnt feel any pain from it but its the tooth behind that needs to be looked at. Good luck!

My dad has fillings fall out sometimes. Go to a different dentist. The pain is horrible! A better dentist will make all the difference.

As much as you hate it,you are going to have to go back to the dentist. If you don't,and there is an infection,it will spread and infect the rest of your gums.
Stress to your dentist that you've not been happy with what work has been done so far,and if possible, see if you can switch to another dentist at the practice. (If there is another one.)

You'd be mad to leave it!!! You have to go to the dentist. If you dont like the one you have then could you not ask to see someone else? If not, then see the one you have, it has got to be better than putting up with it!

I would go find another dentist and sue this one for the unprofessional work he has done on your teeth.

Go to the dentist! But, if you don't like the one you are going to find a new one. It sounds like he's incompetent anyway.
