My daughter was born with a hemangioma and still has it at age 2 years, 4 months. The vast majority of them will go away on their own by the age of 5 to 7. My daughter's is smack dab between her eyes....we're not going to do anything to it unless it doesn't go away on it's own. I recommend NEVER having anything medical done unless it's absolutely necessary. Especially nowadays. Good luck.

I assume that the hemangioma is growing. Many, if not most disappear spontaneously. However there are some hemangiomas that grow to be large and very disfiguring. Many Children's Hospitals in larger cities have pediatric plastic surgeons who specialize in hemangioma treatment.

Go to www.discoveryhealth.com and type in "hemangiomas" and search. You may find the answers there, because they are always doing shows and specials on the topic. Good luck. Where's the hamangioma located?

Type Hemangiomas in your search web and you should find a list of various hospitals that deal with that...add pediatrics for children specialists.

Most general surgeons today are qualified to deal with hemangiomas in children.
Sorry for being forward, but this question has me wondering if your child has a very large one or is disfigured by it.
In that case, seek out the opinion of a Pedeatric Vascular Surgeon. Your family doctor SHOULD know of the closest pediatrician to you who in turn can refer you to a good specialist.

My thoughts and prayers are with you wee one and your family.
