for encouragement: I would just tell them that you are here for them & if they every need someone to talk to Also you can tell them that you care about what happens to them. Another would be strong and keep your chin up. there will be better days ahead.

Depends on how long they gone be in there and what they in there for. If it's for a short time you can help them to think of the things here on the outside that they'll soon be returning home to. If its for a while, encourage them to use their time wisely. If there's an education program at the facility they're at, they should join it. Read lots of books, increase knowledge. Get that body in shape. Just try to keep their mind off that small *** cell ... hope that everything works out for you and your friend locked up ... i'll keep you guys in myprayers:)
