No.

The 2.8-litre engine in the Galaxy is a six-cylinder Volkswagen engine (the Galaxy and VW Sharan were virtually identical, built in the same factory in Portugal). It was never used in any other Ford models, but did appear in the Sharan VR6, Golf VR6, Vento VR6, Passat VR6 and Caravelle VR6.

The petrol/LPG engine in the Transit is a four-cylinder Ford unit, and is probably closely related to that in the 2.3-litre version of the Galaxy.

email ford UK. they will be more than happy to help & you will know for definate.
I know ford used to put the pinto engine in their vans and their cars. I would assume they don't use the pinto anymore but i would have thought they still share the engines between the cars and vans. My transit is a lot older than yours but it is the same engine as they use in the cars
