I have a big empty wall that needs something. I found a gorgeous tapestry that I think would look good there but I can't decide if I should get it or look for a nice painting. Any opinions on tapestries?

I once hung a tapestry over my fireplace instead of a picture. I got more complements about it. I say go with the tapestry. It's really hard to find the right picture anyway.

Go against the grain and do the tapestry. If it is as nice as you say it would be a nice art piece which would definitely promote conversation and feel more welcoming than a piece of art on a huge wall. That's my opinion!

My brother went to france and brought back a small but beatiful tapestry. I was working in framing at the time and so they asked me to frame it for them so it would stay preserved. That could be an option for you. Personally - it sounds like you love the tapestry and you probably should go with it - you are the one who has to live with it.

I vote for the tapestry its different then what most people have. Before you buy check out e-bay member 22ofus this member normally has some great taperstries, if none are listed at this time email them for the one you are looking. prices are great too, good luck.

That would be different, which is nice, but for me I would want a large painting or a mural on the wall.
