When i was with my ex bf, he cheated on me and blamed all the problems in our relationship on me. Well he just recently apologized to me for my heartache and hurting that he caused me. He also says that he realized what he had done. It also took him almost 3 years to apologize, he's with another girl now but im not sure if i should forgive him. should i?

I think you should forgive him, if he took the time to actually think what he did through than u should. Everyone deserves to be forgiven some point in there life, If u dont forgive him he may beat himself up for what he did in the past. and it may hurt his selfesteem. he hurt u so u shouldnt want to hurt his self-esteem like that.

Why he came back to you to apologize after 3 years? It has to have a reason? Does he want to cheat his new gf, by again start flirting with you? If you observe that this is the plan of that cheater, then never ever forgive him.
But if you observe that he is sincere in his apology & he is not has a bad intention then forgive him.

You can forgive him without going back to him. Nothing will come out of leaving his apology unrequited. It's best to forgive and forget. If you hold onto your negative feelings like that, it's really going to take a toll on you.

Forgive him if only for the fact that it will aid you in moving on, no-one needs to hold onto hate and hurt for that long.
Its been three years, hopefully you don't see much of him anyway - and if you do back away slowly, move on, it's the only thing thats right for you

Holding on to the grudge only really hurts yourself at the end. The question is why did he apologize to you now as opposed to then?

Holding resentment is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. In other words, let it go and move on. Good luck on finding someone who will treat you like gold, you deserve it! :)

You should forgive him.

You should also NOT "go back to him."

Sorry, love -- once a cheater, always a cheater.
