With respect to GM foods:
Advantages:
1.They have high nutritional value than wild types.
2.They have longer shelf life that is they can be store for longer time.
3.Resistant to diseases.
4.High yeilding crops.
5.More flavour.

Disdavantages:
1.May lead to undesired reactions sometimes when comsumed.
2.Some times marker genes like antibiotic resistance genes which are used for selection may laterally get transferred to other organisms ( human pathogens) and may gain resistance to that particular antibiotic.
3.May cause allergc reaction in few when consumed.

With respect to animals:
Advantages:
1.The only advantage is high nutritional value and flavour.

Disadvantages:
1.Same as piont 2 in plants.
2.Hormones in GM animals may be present in large quantities which will definitely cause adverse effects in humans when consumed.

they are good b/c they can quickly increase the food supply by being able to grow in bad weather or even in climates that were not capable of growing a crop in before

bad b/c they cannot be tracked - a new protein in a food that does not get normally eaten could cause allergies and would be a problem tracing this back to a food source if the doctor does not know that the food source is a GMO
