well I can't answer the part of the question dealing with digging but as for chewing your house up, get him some toys and also some rawhide chews to keep his mouth busy.

My vet recommended (for show chewing but other chewing works too) getting an empty can of soda and putting some pennies in it then putting tape over the hole and every-time you catch your dog chewing on something throw the can (not at him but near him/her) and yell "NO". The noise makes them stop and not do it. It may take a few times but it could work.

Citronella is supposed to make dogs not like whatever it is they are chewing so you can use that too but for some reason its not really recommended.

For digging- maybe your dog needs it's nails clipped and he is trying to wear them down himself. It is painful for a dog to have long nails- its like walking on glass (so I've read).

Some people - I've heard- sprinkle chili-powder over the yard and this is supposed to discourage the dog from doing that.

You can also try to only have one spot for the dog to dig (like to bury bones and stuff) by always directing him or her to that spot when you see it digging.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How old is your dog? If he's a puppy, then this is just part of the growing up process. If he's already an adult, then maybe you should take him to a trainer.

As for digging holes, you can fill the holes up with the dog's poop. This is supposed to discourage the dog from digging in there. (It didn't stop my dogs years ago though.)
