who has adhd and depression that has been diagnosed by a doctor and is on medication for both able to get SSI benifits? Would a child that just has adhd and has been diagnosed and is on medication also able to get SSI.
I have heard of alot of people have gotten SSI for their children that are diagnosed with these conditions and a friend of mine is wondering if her children might qualify.

How old is the child? If the child is school age have them (the school) do an IEP. Once a child has been diagnosed as having a learning disorder due to ADHA, then you can file for SSI. My adopted son was given SSI for medical needs, speech therapy and 400.00 per month towards his living expenses.

i doubt it. adhd and depression are conditions that can be control with medication. even if not on medication, they are not considered disabilities.
