A few months ago after shopping, i accedently left my purse in the shopping cart in the parking lot. I guess i was more concerned about making sure my daughter was in the care safely, and didnt even realize i had left it. When i got to the next store i realized i didnt have my purse and freaked out! I rushed back to where i had left it and thankfully someone had found it and took it into the store. Not a dime was missing.

Then a few weeks ago my daughter and i were shopping in Big Lots and i grabbed a little 25 cent bag of chips for her to snack on while we looked around. I realized after we had gottnen home that i didnt pay for the chips! I felt horrible! The next time i went there I had the clerk charge me for them because that was the right thing to do.

We should ALWAYS return purses, wallets, or other things we find that do not belong to us if at all possible. Especially if you are a parent, we need to be teaching our children by example and show them how to do the right thing!

I have returned a wallet/purse with a substantial amount of money in it. if there is an ID, I'd make every effort to find the person.
I've also found a $50 bill on the ground when I was the only person I could see around. Literally blew to my feet...*THAT* I did keep.

I would return the wallet with the cash inside of it...reason being...my husband and I have a very good lifestyle and money is not a issue for us. I am sure the person who misplaced the wallet may not be as financially well off as we are.

If YOU, lost a wallet with $300 in it, wouldn't you want the finder to keep the cash?

I'd return it, providing it had an i.d., and if it didn't I'd put an ad in the paper, stating where/when I found it, and to call and id it.... Never know what that money was for...Could be a woman's grocery money for 6 kids or something...

I'd return the wallet and the money. My conscience wouldn't let me do anything else.

I've been in this position on more than one occasion. No I would not take the money nor did I at the times. I would be swimming in overwhelming guilt.

you better believe I would. I highly believe in what goes around comes around. trust me...it does. If you don't like the new agey version and want the biblical one - you reap what you sow. Don't learn the hard way. If you know who it belongs to give it back. If it were you, you would want someone to return it to you.

no i would not keep it. i would take it to the local police station and turn it it. if the person comes to claim it, there it is - all $300 dollars intact. voila!
