'Love handles' could be genetic. My stepson, who is in great physical condition has them because his father did too.
Does your dad or mom have a history of large people in your family?
You're only 14, you're barely into puberty and your hormones are going nuts, so try to be a little more patient with yourself, ok? I know it's hard when you have so much pressure from society and your peers to be 'thinner'.
How about just learning to be YOU before you try to be someone else?
If you're intent on losing weight though, then I suggest a lot of walking to start because it's easy on your growing frame. A light weight regimen will help. Use lighter weights to tone, heavy weights cause 'bulking up'.
And for a really healthy snack that is excellent for you and low in calories and fat, try this simple recipe.

1/2 cup skim milk or light soya milk
1/2 cup low fat yogurt
1/2 - 3/4 cup frozen strawberries or melon(cantaloupe, honeydew)
Blend on high speed for 30-40 seconds and enjoy! It's also a great lunch replacement.

P.S. Stay away from those weight loss, energy granola bars etc, as well as fast food and deep fried items.
Don't stop eating breakfast! Two pieces of whole wheat toast with a tbsp. of p-nut butter on each can give you great morning energy.

But remember, your health is FIRST at your age. Don't deprive yourself of your supper. Cut out snacks past 7 or 7:30 and if you need a snack desperately, have an apple, carrot and celery sticks, or even 3 cups of light popcorn(no butter).

I wish you well. God Bless and thanks for reading.

I know that this is a cliche answer, but I think that you should get a healthier lifestyle instead of dieting. If you diet for lets say 10 weeks and you get to your goal weight, then whats going to happen when you get back to your normal lifestyle? chances are that you will gain weight again. So dont cut out carbs or starches or anything like that. Just try to eat less snacks and intead crunch on some carrot sticks once in a while. And then make a schedule of excercises like running twice every week or doing some cardio and strength work.

This may take longer than dieting, but it will lead to a healthier lifestyle and you will keep the weight off. :)

One pound equals 3500 calories. You need to lose just under 4 pounds per week, or about 14,000 calories. I'm going to tell you right now, that going to the gym and working off 2,000 calories every day for 7 days will wipe you out. If you cut 1,000 calories from your daily diet, then you'd only need to workoff 1,000 calories at the gym. It's possible, but it's going to be tough.. your body will want to replenish the energy you burned. The first month will be the easiest to lose 15 pounds, but the following months will be harder and harder due to body fat percentage reduction. It's not out of the question, it can be done, but it'd be better for you to lose the weight slowly... like 5 lbs per month.

Always see a doctore before starting any diet....but here's a quick easy way.....walk about 2-3 miles at least 4 times a week....drink a lot of water, stay away from sodas, eat smaller portions of whatever it is you decide to eat. Good luck

Cut down on starch and sugar, and get exercise tapes at your local library, that way you don't have to buy them, and do a lot of walking, GOOD LUCK.
