It's doubtful that you have psoriasis. This doesn't normally appear on the scalp. If you've been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis (and what you describe sounds similar) use Selsun Blue shampoo and conditioner. One of the best products for treatment of seborrheic dermatitis is one that contains selenium sulfide 1%. Apply the shampoo to dry hair and leave on for up to 10 minutes. Wet the hair and massage gently but thoroughly to remove scales, then rinse. Apply conditioner per directions. Follow this protocol at least 3-4 times a week. If you shampoo more often, even better. Give this 30 days and if you see no change in condition, consult with a dermatologist.

I have this problem as well. It is called Seborhic Dermatitis (excuse the spelling). It mainly comes in the winter months. I have tried all the over the counter stuff as well as going to the dr. All you are doing is paying high prices for medicines and shampoos that don't work. The best thing that has helped me and I know that this will sound awful but in the winter months, limit hair washing to once a week and limit the styling products that you use. Then in the summer, wash you hair every other day. Its ok to wet it just don't wash. All you are doing is washing all the oils that you need to keep it moisturised. In a few weeks, you will see a big change. The last thing, DONT SCRATCH OR PICK AT IT! This only makes it worse.

Try putting vinegar in your hair, pour some on your head and then massage it into the scalp using the pads of your fingers NOT THE NAILS. If you use your nails then you are likely to cause more dandruff. After that try using an anti dandruff shampoo like head and shoulders.
It really works if you use it regularly but you tend to smell for a bit afterwards!

If you've ruled out medical conditions, try this: Dissolve an aspirin in warm water and use it as a rinse after you shampoo (first heard this hint when Jennifer Aniston revealed that it's her secret to fighting dandruff -- and it works!) What I don't know is if any is absorbed thru the skin (I would think not much given how you're using it) or if you are allergic to aspirin. An effective home remedy, though.

Try making a paste out of borax + water + apply that for few minutes before washing. Nizoral shampoo is excellent too.

Go t the doctor and they should give you some shampoos or oils.
Try not to scratch it and dont use any hair treatments that will touch your scalp.
Try alphosyl thats a good one and it soothes aswell.
