Im glad you asked this. I just walked into a Golds Gym not too long ago, and because my husband is deployed, I had to bring my 2 kids. They told me I couldnt bring them in, even though my 2 month old was in a carseat and my 3 year old sleeping in a stroller. I called the YMCA and for my whole family (my husband, myself, and my daughter) we only have to pay 40 a month, and she gets to do gymnastics, plus they watch them up to 2 hrs per day for free while I work out. For just myself its only 22$ per month....So I would say the best gym is the YMCA is you have one around, they offer so much more than just your typical gym, they have swimming which is one of the best work outs, and if you have kids there are things for them to do as well and they'll watch them for up to 2 hours everyday while you work out! Can't beat that!

24 hour fitness sometimes has this deal every so often. It's a very good deal, but the catch is you have to put down $699 upfront. That covers 3 years, so basically you're only paying $19.41 per month. After 3 years, it's only $50 for the entire year. That's about $4 a month! I used to have Bally total fitness and they charge $100 down and $38 a month. And there's no special after 3 years. 24 hour fitness is open 24 hours most of the time. Bally's closes at 11pm during the weekdays, and 8pm during the weekends. 24 hour fitness is also country wide so you'll find one wherever you go.

The 24 hour fitness deal is for a sports club membership and that means you get to go to any club. Oh yeah, one more thing - 24 is way cleaner than Bally's. If you're interested you should call around and ask about the deal. Some places have specials and some don't. Good luck!

The best gym and cheapest in the long run is to purchase equipment for home and exercise there. You can do just about everything with dumbells, a dumbell bench and a leg extension. Then purchase a exercise bike and you have all you need at home. You only have to spend money once on the equipment.

ahh no do not go to curves...sure you'll see some progress for the first little bit but after that you wont see a thing....as theres no progression involved in their workouts
To tell you the truth though its different for real gyms from area to area...take the YMCA for example....they might be excellent in one town but a shanty dungeon gym in another(which some people do like).....do your research and try them all...if you have friends in them ask them

I won't say I know much about gyms. But I have a friend who recently joined Curves, and she loves it.
