I think it would be a great idea. Then, once they have gone, we'll vote for independance and not let them back in. Can't understand how so many of 'em manage to buy season tickets and travel from Ayrshire on a Giro, never mind to Sarf of the Border!

St Mirren and Killie to be the New New Firm Jeff?

No, it's all hyped up to be something special instead of being just plain mediocre. The Premier league is all about money and having at least 6 games a season against the Old Firm teams. The First Division is the really interesting league in Scottish football but the 2nd placed team should get a play-off against No.11 in the top league.

They wouldn't let the Old Firm play football in the Premiership quite simply because they see them as a threat (well Celtic anyway! at present!) Imagine a Scottish team winning the Premiership! Class!

The English are soooo far up their own a*ses it ceases to amaze me?!?!?!?

Think of past results over the last few years of Scottish v English teams in European Club competitions for example! Enuff said!

It would be nice for them to come down south but why not start at the bottom (League 2) and work their way up. Why? Will help some "smaller" clubs bring in some much needed cash as the crowds will come. I'm a North End fan and have watched them work their way up. It would also be very unfair for any championship team who finished in the top two and then were denied promotion because of the Old Firm.

If the old firm were to come down here though why not have a British League?

I for one am fed up hearing this coming up time and time again.
It will never happen!!! The old firm are Scottish not English. I for one do not want to lose our identity. Cannot see myself celebrating the fact that we won the English league. It would mean nothing to me. Sorry Jeff don't mean to go on. xx

Why should they have the divine right to move into the Premier League just because it takes their fancy?

If there was a similar deal for the Polish League, would you think they should be trying to join that league.

They should look to join the MLS. Bags of dosh and a similar quality of league. Just think of the support Celtic would get in some of the Irish strongholds over there.

It will never happen. If it did, then we would be back like we were a few years ago when the line up wouldnt have one Scot in the team.We finally have decent young players coming through now.

i don't think so tho i would like to see it . we would lose our identity's and we could be forced into a British national side altho i think we would do well in world cups we couldn't play each other and we love to play each other don't we.
