Both of my kids were late teethers. I think they both got their first teeth at 16 months! If you are concerned, ask your pediatrician or your dentist.

From what I understand, it is actually an advantage to be a late teether. The jaw has a chance to grow larger before the teeth come in, which could mean less crooked teeth when your child is older!

Also, I remember reading that late teething is also common with hypothyroid problems. Do you, or does anyone in your family have thyroid problems? If so, you may want to keep this in mind as your child gets older.

A Dentist will tell you that the longer the teeth remain unemerged the healthier they are. Don't worry, I wouldn't be concerned unless he's maybe 18 or so months old and STILL doesn't have teeth.

Ok this is not typical but not all kids develope at the same pace. I suggest that you dicuss your concerns with your childs pediatrician. If you do not have one find a good one. Best of luck I hope this helped
