Are there toy poms, fox face, and teddy bear varieties of this breed? I've been told that ours is a toy, and several people have also called him a teddy bear, I can't find much info on these variations.

There is only one pomeranian. Anything else would be distinctions based solely on appearance and quality.

Check out the breed desription on AKC.org:https://www.akc.org/breeds/pomeranian/index.cfm

Poms should only be 3-7 pounds, so unless yours is smaller than this, it is not a mini!

The first link just shows an average looking white Pomeranian puppy. The second link is a very poor quality Pomeranian. Very very poor quality. They tend to look like that when you breed for White, they revert to the more Spitz type. There are VERY FEW reputable breeders that breed white, because they revert to the old type and therefore are not show quailty. If you want a quality Spitz dog in white I suggest you look into an American Eskimo, as they were all the same breed at one time. There is only one kind of Pomeranian. The breed standard calls for a dog from 3-7 pounds. It is not unusual for Pomeranians to be as large as 15+ pounds if poorly bred, backyard breeders like the larger size as this produces more puppies and more money in their pocket.. The breed is bred down from a 35 pound dog. You should only aquire your Pomeranian from a Code of Ethics breeder who is a member in good standing of the American Pomeranian Club. Find one that does genetic testing- most of them do not. Luxating Patellas are a HUGE problem in the breed and VERY EXPENSIVE to fix. Also Black Skin disease is becoming more common as well.

Poms come with different faces.

The different muzzle types in Poms, as well-the most common descriptions are; fox face, bear face and babydoll faced.

FYI - There is a difference in the jaws of the teddy bear which can cause bite problems and open holes in the skulls.

There are different types of Pomeranian BREEDERS....

ones that care and breed by the standard with health guarantees are reputable breeders...

and the ones that come from idiots that tell you they come in different flavors.
You can't find much info because there is no variation only one real source: www.akc.org

No there is only one type of pom, just variations in size and coloring. Go to the AKC website to find the standards for this breed, what is acceptable and what is not.

There is only one type of pomeranian. However, unknowlegeable people and backyard breeders use terms like this to describe dogs which do not meet the standard. By using terms like "toy" etc. they are attempting to legitimize their incorrect animals so that people will buy them.

As far as I know, there is only one type... just some look a bit different (like people). They all came from the distant island of Pomerania.... which is halfway between the islands of Peken and Dalmatia off the coast of Airdale ;-)
