Can I use police mace on someone on the street if I were being attacked? Or is it illegal for me to have?

No I dont have a lot of enemies! I have been assaulted in my home once while hubby was at work! Yeah that person went to jail!
He wants me to be safe but I would rather have mace than a gun...especially since I can shoot a gun..lol..

Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) or Pepper Spray is only effective on 99% of the people in the world. If you should happen to run into that 1% then you will just aggravate him/her more. I am not promoting guns, but nobody is bullet proof.

Hmm...I think so...my boyfriend wants me to get mace for all the time I'm driving around the city alone (I've been harassed by men on more than one occasion and my bf is a cop. I shot down his gun idea, however (concealed carry is legal here, but I'm not at all comfortable around guns).

It is legal, but does it work good enough to save your life? Guns are not as hard to use as you might think. A little practice can make a big difference. You should try out a few small pistols and revolvers to see which you can use easier, and learn how to use and maintain them. You would be surprised at how many anti-gun advocates actually have guns of their own. They hypocritically say YOU shouldn't have guns but they have them personally. Why do they think nobody but them should have guns? Why should anyone be deprived the Right to own guns? Criminals are the ones we need to protect ourselves from, not legal non-criminal gun owners!

You can use mace, and I am a firm believer as long as you can justify your actions against a dirtbag, then you've protected yourself. I have a four legged, 95 pound partner who things hes an aligator, but very protective and has proven himself on many occasions. I firmly believe in this phrase, "I would rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6".

It is not illegal. mace is used when you are being attacked, harassed, or robbed. there is nothing wrong with having mace with you. just as long as it is not the other way around and you use it to rob or attack someone else. if it was illegal, then policemen wouldn't have them.

Check with your local police. In NJ you are allowed to carry up to a certain amount, which I believe is 3/4 ounce.

If someone attacks you on the street, and you can get at your mace, use it and worry about the consequences later.
I wouldn't carry a pistol.

I would think so but I'm sure is is illegal someplace. I know for sure, you don't want to try getting into Canada with it. They will, and have locked up two senior citizens for it.
