You could goggle up some of the names of the blood Pressure Monitor companies. After you have found their information. Write to them about your situation ask them if they give free monitors or inexpensive monitors to people. They might just (this is not a definite)send to you a free blood pressure monitor. Let them know your situation, it never hurts to try.

True they have blood pressure machines at lots of pharmacy's today, but they actually are not ideal to give you correct readings. Why ? well because of the following reasons :- You have got up and dressed, you have been moving around, preparing breakfast, tidying up, then probably you've been shopping and doing other things too, then you think '' ah yes, I will go and monitor my BP''. The best time to take your blood pressure is when you are RESTING, hence that is the reason why its better to buy yourself a BP Machine, its well worth the small sum to do so. I am a heart patient with both high BP, ectopic heart beat and more unfortunate for me a blocked artery at the back of the heart, so whilst no a medical person myself, I know lots via my own experience about problems with the heart and high BP. At my surgery the doctors sent me home for five days with a BP monitor, and hence I learned the following facts :- Important BP readings are :- 1st thing in the morning - before your feet leave the bed and last thing at night - again when your relaxed and in bed. By having the BP machine, you then take your BP readings 5 times again, counting the early morning and last thing at night. Write down the readings, then go back to the doctor in 5 days time, and he doing his calculations will then pick out your personal bp results. Cut out salt in your food, its in processed foods but you can't odds that, I use pepper on my dinner rather than salt now, and I don't miss not having salt on my dinner. Cut down on the diary products, or use the ones they recommend that have less fats within, use oil to cook not fat or lard. Eat a healthy diet, and of course this does not mean that once a week you cannot have say a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal or some other fast food if that is what you are about, but eating things in moderation is the best way to go. Keep weight down, exercise, and all will be well for years and years and years. Do you have a history in the family of high BP or heart problems, that too is something you need to know, and if the answer is yes, then all the more important you look after that vital organ the heart. Go and see your doctor, ask him could you borrow a machine to do an average bp test on yourself. Best wishes Billie UK.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.
