So, I dyed my hair black and it has partiallly washed out and not its brown (my natural color) and black. I really want to bring my hair to a dark illuminesent brown, but how do I get the black out?

i hate to say this..but you either have to let it grow more and cut it..or strip it which is basically murder to your hair... you can try bleaching and redying but thats jsut as bad....it basically stripping...well atleast in my experience it was...but dont worry..take some vitamins to help your hair grow and just cut it...as a guy this should be easier for you cause you can go short and its not the end of the world...well i would hope not but its the only thing i can think of sry

wash it with some shampoo and conditioner for brown hair. that should work cuz if you just use regular shampoo and conditioner itll fade both colors. this way itll just fade out the black. hope it works.

Was this a permanent dye or was it a rinse-something like Manic Panic or FX?

you would have to strip your hair or bleach it. black is extremely hard to get out. i did it like twice and i wont every agian
