i know by second hand accounts that you CAN get a good job if you take prescribed methadone. my husbands best friend has been going to a methadone clinic for about three years and he has a great job in the laborers union making $22 dollars an hour.
so tell your friend not to give up hope, good jobs for people taking methadone, can be found.

Sure you can. From experience ( I'm in pain management ) I switched to morphine. The thing that comes to peoples minds is junkie withdrawing. They don't know the other medical advantages of it. AS long as Ur boss knows & if you get tested U have a script so everything will be fine. Hope this helps U.

As long as the employer is aware that they are on the medications there shouldn't be an issue. If you have to take a drug test, make sure and take the prescription bottle with you so they can see it is legal use.

I agree above. Your friend must be upfront with the employer about this. The prescription bottle and his doctor's name and office number would be helpful as well. And tell your friend to be honest about any side effects he has from the drug, it's better to be upfront and honest than to hide something which you could get in trouble for later!
