She used to be an excellent eater and seemed to enjoy food a lot, then this all changed about a month ago, she would spit out food and not show any interest in it. I know that some of her bigger teeth were coming in, but they look okay now......
Please help.

This is NOT normal, for sure! I have a 19 mo old daughter and she is a healthy eater of almost anything you set in front of her. Depending what you are offering her, most children don't like spicy foods or red meat. I would try to switch to different varieties of foods that she may of not seen or tasted.
Another thing is, do you eat together as a family because children mimic those around them and if she sees you eating something then she may be willing to try. If she is sitting alone in a chair then she may be bored...so maybe let her have a toy at her chair or read her a story to keep her company.
Give her a lot of praise and I hope if this continues that you contact your doctor asap.

Well there are so many reasons toddlers stop eating. One like you said could be the teething process. Using tylenol and a teething cream that numbs her gums. If you think this is the issue give her food that will feel good. Popsicles, frozen waffles, warm noodles like ramen apples sauce soft foods.

But toddlers start to learn about this age that they have choices. They start to learn textures. This really is normal. Just put her in her highchair and offer her the food. Do not make a huge ordeal just offer it. If she doesnt want it, take her down and try again in an hour or so. Give her something else. Keep trying that is the most important thing. Plus I keep reading that it can take many times of offering certain foods before they will even try it. Keep the fluids going in and try not to get worried. She will eat when she gets hungry. I am not suggestning letting her go for more then half a day without eating just be patient. Making a big ordeal or show will only show her that this IS a big deal. Be low key and keep your head. She will come back around.

Also make sure there arent any sores in her mouth or throat that may be causing discomfort when eating.

Good luck We have all been there. Hope it all works out. If you get really worried take her to your pediatrician in the end they are the ones that know what is normal or not.

my daughter is 21 months and she did the same thing when she was 16mos. I know this may not be the best way, but I was desperate and worried about her eating... I put her in her crib with a bowl of dry cereal or macaroni-n-cheese (well anything that can go into a bowl) and I told her "eat-eat".. at first she fought and cried, but after a couple days, she was eating most of her food. Also if her gums are still sore from the teeth coming in, give her something easy to eat like mashed potatoes or rice.
this was a last measure, i tried everything else the people on here said and nothing worked.
I dont know if this will help, but if you are as desperate as I was to have my daughter eat, then you'll try it. :)

Kids go through phases and you just have to try different things, different textures, different foods. Maybe even give her a break for a day or two. Incoming teeth definitely cause them to lose interest in food as their gums are so tender but usually this only lasts for a few days. Have you asked the doctor about this? Maybe they could give you some better suggestions...

Toddlers often refuse food. Just tell her she needs to eat it, and only offer her a small amount at a time.

They do that. She will eat if she is hungry. Just keep feeding her healthy foods.

Are you giving her too much milk? Or has something happened in her life to make her want to be a baby again?
