thanks all for bashing me so much I really appreciate it , If you consider a Doctor of 2000 years ago and a tax collector educated then Im wrong, Im only trying to show that todays society is alot more intelligent and and in comparison the biblical writters would probably be about equivalent to a 4th grader. re we not mo evolved hence I say that word, educated, smarter, thoughtful???

It may not have been written by uneducated people at all--

The HEbrew Bible, as we have it, was collected by elite, educated priests during the Babylonian exile (those who were elites were taken by the Babylonians).

Paul certainly had exposure to both the education of the Roman world and of Rabbinical training.

While the writers were certainly ancient, pre-scientific, pre-enlightenment people, uneducated is not an accurate term, and it's not playing fair to use it.

On the other hand, I wouldn't use the Bible as a biology or astronomy text book. :)

Apart from David who started out as a shepherd and ended up as just about the greatest king who every lived, who was a sheepherder? Paul was highly educated. Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived. Moses was a great leader with direct contact with God. Do you really think this current society that can't even control crime and violence within the nation is superior to the societies of that day. Read some history and you might discover that we are not at the top of the intellectual ladder.

The desert heat is getting to you.

Who told you the Bible was written by uneducated primitive sheepherders? Where is your source to verify this?

Your grammar belies your claim to having evolved as an 'educated' member of society, yet you posture yourself off as such, trying to belittle others.

Whether the guy with the cookie monster reference did come up to you - educated or not - it is expected that you would not believe him since cookie monster is a puppet lying in the studio, waiting for some live person to swing him around. Other than that, he/it is of no consequence.

The Bible, and many of the subjects within it are the most studied on this planet. To date no one, educated or not, has been able to refute any passage in the Bible, even Creation. Yes, there are millions who do not believe it-but they have not been able to prove any part untrue. Go to any library in any free country and just look. You will find more documents on this subject than any other-no contest. Many stories in the Bible were thought to be fiction in the past, but since early 1800's so much archaeological evidence has been discovered that supports different passages that the Bible as a whole can not be dismissed as myth.

The Bible was not written by uneducated shepherds. The gospel of Luke for example, written by Dr. Luke. The apostle Paul was a highly regarded Pharisee in his days before he converted to Christianity. Many were Prophets or of the Priesthood, the educated ones of their day. If you wrote a fable as you say, How long do you think it would last before it just died out from the passing of time. The Bible has not died out, in fact the Word of God is spreading. Would you be willing to die a brutal death to defend your fable? Not likely.Would followers be willing to die to defend your fable? Not likely. Would you be willing to have people call you stupid and retarded and uneducated for believing in this fable? Or have a whole village beat you up for the cause of your fable? These are things that Christians have endured for the sake of the Cross of Christ.

have you ever took the time to read the bible...if so then you would know that many of the authors of the bible were educated for their time..Moses was raise as a prince...he was educated...there was tax collectors and business owners...They had to be somewhat educated....To say that they were all sheepherders is to show you lack of knowledge on biblical facts..True the non of the above were educated at Harvard or Yale, but regardless, many of them were educated for the times...And there have been many well respected and well educated people who have believed in the bible to come afterwards...Jonathan Edwards a former president of Princeton University, held in the same regards as Sir Issac Newton believed in the bible....So before you ask a question like that maybe..just maybe you need to educate yourself on the topic...maybe read the bible for yourself.....Be blessed

Not all apostles, are not educated, some are fisherman, some are educated. But they can prophecy things from the past and in the future. These people gather by God for a sole purpose. They all gather to become a witness. Witness for all the teaching, good works and wonder for other people will know the greatness and righteousness of God as explained by Jesus.
These men are guided by the Holy spirit. As God spoken to them I tell you that their words is true with no discrepancies.

Do not insult the cookie monster.
People believe all sorts of strange things. I do actually know someone who does believe in the cookie monster and there are many stranger things. The main things are the Bible's message. The ten commandments. Apart from the God one (and the sabbath) they are pretty much the rules of civilizasion and make good people.

Would you believe Einstein,Gates,or Steven Hawking if they relayed to you the story of the cookie monster sighting?

Probably not....why?....you already have made up your mind what to believe, based on your finite perception.

By the way, the Apostle Paul, who penned a large portion of the Bible (N.T.), was very highly educated and respected,as was Mark the doctor who authored the Gospel according to Mark.

Bad assumption. It wasn't. Moses was trained in the highest arts available to the ancient Egyptians. Most of the prophets were trained scribes and historians. And of course, Solomon was a king, with a king's education. Looks like the only uneducated person in this mix is YOU.
