Because they are not the same.

Lucifer is the morning star is Lucifer...

Don't quote me a verse or two of Isaiah either, because that is God taunting the king of Babylon. Look back a few verses and see it for yourself.

Revelation is talking about the Dragon not Lucifer. In Revelation Jesus calls himself the morning star.

No where in the bible does it equate Lucifer with the Dragon or with the adversary.

Let's get all of our facts straight and quit perpetuating the doctrines of man.

Am I being nitpicky? Yup. Kind of a big implication calling the adversary the same thing that Jesus calls himself.

Certainly the adversary has accomplished his goal of being thought of as Jesus - through man's doctrine. We do keep calling him the morning star, after all...

Agree or Disagree?

I only bring this up again because I see it come up again and again with the answers on this service.

The devil didn't steal the title, mankind gave it to him! ;-)

As far as the dragon goes, I think it is a representation of a country that is oppressing God's people.

You're right, Satan is indeed a tester of faith - just read Job!

Nicole - Don't quote me anything from the chick tracks..

Quote me from the bible only. In the KJV lucifer is used in Isaiah but it is the same thing as morning star in Revelation.

If you cannot find the verse then perhaps it is not true.

wow a christian who actually has studied his bible.. I'm impressed!

Lucifer (latin meaning light-bearer) is actually a mistranslation in Isaiah of the word Halel (Day-star) and you are right. It is about a babylonian king who had tormented the jewish people for a long time and then lost his power.

The jews never saw Satan as a fallen angel nor as the adversary of God. They see him as being in God's employ.. he is the challenger of your faith .. to see if you are ready for the next level.. the tester.. and he does God's bidding.

The Dragon in revelation isn't about Satan either. I agree with you completely. Well done! I wish I could give you 10 points for this question.

Most christians don't know that much about what they believe in. It only gets worse generation by generation. They never learn the correct way, and they pass their knowledge off to the young. Just like any story, each time it's told the story changes, that's how it's working with christianity, weather they want to admit it or not. If they just took the time to actually learn about something they believe in maybe they'd pick something else. To me, honestly this is the only way christianity has survived. Christians have the least knowledge about their religion then any other. To me now, I have to sit back and think, is christianity still a religion or just a very large cult. Don't get me wrong, I am a believer in all beliefs. There is a very fine line between beliefs and mind tricks though.

One of Satan's (i.e. the dragon) only ploys is to counterfiet the acts and thoughts of God. Is it so unlikely that The "Morning Star" is a stolen title?

I don't know. It is just a possibility I think.

It is good to know the enemy, but do not dwell in him.
