If you just have spyware, get adaware from www.lavasoft.com
If you have a virus that your virus check won't clear, go to a professional. There are some very powerful virus clearing programs but I wouldn't advise using them yourself. They do not ask you "Are you sure you want to delete file.extension?", they just delete it, so you need to know what you're looking for.

Download a free spyware cleaner from the net. If you use Adaware and Spybot together they should clean everything out. You can also install Microsofts Windows Defender, it will run in the background and prevent new spyware from being added.

You need anti-spyware as well as antivirus. Avast and Spybot are good, and I use Ad-Aware.
Good luck!
