We have a new supervisor and some employees have told him some negative things, how would you handle this situation?

I contact the Supervisor and emailed my co-worker I had to leave early for a family emergency and they told the supv. they didn't get the email and went into a negative bash.. but yet the supv. had gotten his, I forward him the email that I sent them show the date and time

Sounds like you clearer it up by forwarding the email showing you sent it.
I'd call that incident closed unless you have reason to believe the supervisor thinks ill of you.
Just let it drop and do your work.
What did you have in mind to do about it?

Do you job as best as you can. Follow the rules and eventually the supervisor will get the right impression of you.
If you find that someone has told him some thing bad about you and it effect your quality of work, contact the human resources centre of the company because most of the companies have it might help you as well. Also if you are in Canada, then you can even file a complain at the government. (assuming that you feel extremely uncomfortable.)

Negavite things about what?
If they are about you, I would just make sure that he knew that they were false... that is... if they are.
And, I wouldn't say anything, my actions would speak for themselves.

Usually supervisors know that there is gossip when they c are hired into an office or firm. Have faith that he/she is smart enough to sort things out.
If you believe that this person is acting on those beliefs and they are not tru, you might want to sit down with the supervisor and talk to him/her.
But, doing it now would just seem like you are fuling the fire and continuing to engage in the petty gossip.
Let your attitude and work ethic speak for itself.
If you continue to have problems with one or two workers, there might be a place for you to discuss your grievances.
Do this only if it effects your work or your potential for advancement.
Otherwise, try and handle it quietly.

If he's a supervisor, he will take co-worker's opinion with a grain of salt. Just do your job to the best ability that you can. Don't worry about what other people are saying! He will know who is doing good and who isn't!

Negative things about other people or about you or just being rude to you supervisor? If its about you or other people then I think those people should prove the negative things said about them wrong and make the *** kissers the ones that look bad. cb

Blind carbon copy the e mail to the supervisor as well and see what they say next time. Always take the high road - do your job, don't gossip and you will prove yourself.

be professional.
do your job.
do the right thing.
have integrity.
let the boss figure out if the negative things are true.
and make sure they are not true.
deliver good work and good behavior.
if the other employees were telling the truth about you,
change your ways.
