I don't have a plane ticket, I'm asking for a friend and she doesn't have one yet either.

It depends on the type of ticket and flight. Usually charters are non refundable. When you book the flight it will give you terms and conditions. Usually you can change it. It depends on which airline regarding the cost. I paid €35 to change my return flight with Aer Lingus from Heathrow to Dublin.

Yes 99 % of tickets you can change. How much it will cost depends on alot of factors. For one, it depends on the type of ticket you have. Two, it depends on how full the flight you are trying to get on is. If you are on a non-refundable coach ticket you will pay a airline change fee of 25 to 200$ and then a fare increase if there is one.

Return tickets are usually cheaper than one ways, and they have restrictions.
Some fares (prices) allow changes at certain amount, some just don't allow changes at all.
Best thing is, when you or your friend goes to buy the ticket, and wants to know how much it will cost, ask the travel agent, as prices can vary a lot.

It depends if you bought a flexible ticket. Some cheap tickets are non date changeable and non refundable, because they are special/ cheap fares.
If date changes are allowed they also vary from airline to airline and also on the type of ticket you purchased.
If you call the airline they will let yo know whether your ticket is date changeable, how much it will cost and the restictions on your ticket (how long it is valid for, if the dates you want to change to are available).

It depends on the airline, the reason for the change, the class of the original ticket, and the change. Many charge around $50, but the website should be able to tell you for sure.
