I''m 15, not overweight but would like to be slimmer. I don't want to bulk up. What speed should I be on? How long? Should I use incline or will that make me bulk up?
Thank you!

Rather than use incline you should increase the speed. Incline is a lot harder on your ankles. Also, never hold on to any of the bars, either side or front. Just by keeping your hands off the bars you increase the number of calories burned by 50% for the same speed and time. The popular theory is that the most effective way to slim down is to go at a relatively slow speed for a long time. I don't believe it. I believe by exercising at a high intensity level your body's metabolism stays high for a long time after your workout. Still, that doesn't mean that I think the most effective way to slim down is to, say, run one mile at max speed. The way I believe you will get the best result is by going at the max intensity you are able to sustain for at least 40 minutes.

you don't have to worry about bulking up. you're a woman. women don't get bulky without taking some sort of steriod!

about the treadmill probably the best routine is to interval train so run at a warm up pace for 5 min then pick it up a couple notches to a harder pace (but not sprinting) and go for 2 min. then do a full out spring for a minute. alternate those until you get to minute 25 where you will go way back down to your starting pace to cool down. once you get good at the sprinting and this routine is not so hard anymore you could try putting a little incline on it. however if you haven't been on the treadmill i'd start out doing this same routine over a 20min period and work up to 30, then the incline.

I am a Female Bodybuilder......

If you are really looking to get in good shape and a toned look.....The treadmill is great but don't do any High Intensity workouts. Do low intensity workouts for longer time and you will burn all the bad fat away off your body. You do not want your heart rate to high or you will start burning muscle and the good fat you have on your body. If you are into doing some small weights, do not do any cardio workouts before and only after weight training! Hope that helps!
