Do you believe that god created a world with one continent that broke apart, or did he create the continents separately as they are now?

Thanks! So we all agree with plate tectonics...

I'm not sure; I wasn't there, and he really doesn't speak of it in his word. If I were to speculate it would be a theological deduction and that's a no-no. Remember, were trying to understand the infinite mind of God with a finite understanding of ourselves.

He created the earth and the Bible says at the the Tower of Babel is when He "scattered the people" so that they would have different languages--so I believe that is when different parts of the world became what they are today...See all of Genesis 11
And yes it does say He "divided the waters" in Genesis 1. So He had a plan all along~

Genesis 11:5-9
5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. 6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel [c] —because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Don't know. I am a Christian and believe in creation but I personally don't believe that the earth was formed 6,000 years ago. I believe it was much longer.
I do believe in the world-wide flood. How land masses were changed due to water levels would only be speculation. Also, what amount of change due to continental drift and plate movement effected the original design?

I think scientific evidence shows that the continent was one and then drifted apart of time. I dont think that goes against any Christian beliefs. I dont think the idea that God created the world and let evolution take its course is so absurd either.

The Book doesn't say. In that respect, it doesn't matter.

I have no problem with continental drift, although my 3rd grade teacher thought I was nuts to assume that the shape of West Africa fits around the east and north of South America.

The question is, which the Book does address, is how did Mankind come to be? When Jesus said, "God so loved the world", he was talking about people, not a ball of rock in space.

I believe that god created a system of atomic particles so complex and perfectly designed that the Big Bang would result in life forming on earth. This view is supported by the bible if you interpret Genisis correctly.

God is not like a kid playing with Lego's. God is like the guy who invented Logo's.

This view is called intelligent design as apposed to creation. Intelligent design includes evolution as Gods method of creation.

One continent that broke apart.

One continent. Aka Pangaea.

As it is written: "And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so." (Genesis 1:9)

The waters were gathered to one place, and the dry land was another place.

Then the Flood caused ruptures in Pangaea, and the continents began to separate over time after the waters receded. At one point, this was recorded. "And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan." (Genesis 10:25)

Well seeing as the continents could not have possibly drifted in only 6000 years than a Christian must believe the earth was formed with separate continents.

We are living in a perishing world, a fallen corrupt world. As it was originally set up the Earth was stable and land masses were solid. God then let the full potential of nature come upon us as we(Adam and Eve) fell into sin.
