Dear Sir/Ma'am, I would like to first of all thank you for your time and dedication to my learning experience. Your teaching style is impeccable. Sadly, after careful consideration, I have decided to drop the class.....

I could have told you a lot more specifics if you stated why you wanted to drop the subject. So I'll explain globally:

*Be honest and straightforward and directly tell why you want to drop the subject.
*Appreciate the teacher for their efforts and immediatly tell that.....
*The benefits for you are higher than the the benefits of continuing the subject.
