I was playing with my beautiful one-year-old daughter in the back garden. I was doing that thing where you only hold her hands and spin her around and around quite fast. She loves it and she always giggles which is nice to hear.

Unfortunately, I was doing this today and I accidentally left go (as I had sweaty hands) and she flew over two garden fences.

She's fine apart from a dirty nappy but my finger really hurts.

Please help! I will be most grateful! Thank you in advance.

Go to an orhopedic surgeon and let them xray it. I'm not trying to scare you into believing that you might have to have surgery for what is normally a simple problem. I believe in better safe than sorry, and, depending on what the doc finds, this could be out of your family doc's league. FYI: Look under "Physicians" in your Yellow Pages. Go to "Surgeons". Go to "Orthopedics". Sometimes the order of the last two are as I've written them; sometimes they're reversed. If your hospital has a call-for-help line, they can recommend an orthopedic surgeon who practices in your hospital. There are also "networks". I don't know what country, city, or state you're in. If you are in the United States--I don't know how far they reach here--try: 1.800.4Baylor for recommendations. I understand that Medical City, another hospital here in Dallas, Texas,--once again, I don't know how far in the United States they reach--- has some great facilities and doc's. Call their Physician Referral line @ (972)566.7111 OR 1.800.905.3306. Good luck!

I bet you caught heck for this from so many folks already-I won't fuss at you. Hope it will be the last time for the spin for a bit-try holding her under your arm and letting her do airplane wings while you run or spin. Less injury and chance of dislocating your digits or her shoulders.

Go see your doctor and let them reset your finger (I think you mean your finger was dislocated and she only fell). They might even want to splint the finger for a few days to let it heal.

Pulling your finger straight out and easing it back into place is correct. I once broke my little toe pulled it straight out and reset it, the doctor said it was only a sprain, when I kept insisting otherwise x-rays proved the brake.

Very funny. Lame joke.

'I threw my 1 yr old over two garden fences. Don't worry about her she's fine but what about my finger?'

She should see a doctor to make sure the finger is dislocated and not broken or just bruised, and he will be able to put it back into joint.

if its her finger- take her to the doctor- NOW

if its your finger- you can try pulling it staright out until it pops back into place.... but you may want to check with a doctro jsut in case

(some fo the answerers ersponded as if it's her finger, soem as if its your finger..... so i responded either way.... just incase you made a typo with "my finger")

Good luck.... and be careful- little girls can be very fragil : )
