there is some truth to that. spicy foods in general have a higher thermogenic effect on the body.

Yes, spicy foods do help your metabolism in that sense, but i wouldn't rely on spicy foods alone. Bit of exercise and good healthy meals help too.

I don't know if it burns more calories because of the higher speed of your metabolism but you're sure to feel it burning something later

if that was true then wouldnt all people who eat spicy food daily be skinny? i dont believe it. only thing to speed up metabolism is exercise.

Probably nowhere near enough for you to burn any substantial fat, but it does speed it up.
