i was wondering if any one can answer a question for me. last night i was just sitting down watching tv when all of a sudden my left arm and hand started getting numb and painful. also my chest on left side in front and back was starting to hurt also. well needless to say it scared me. i thought i would just let it pass because i also have anxiety and thought it might be that. well today it hasnt been hurting just a little numb. iam 46 years old. please anyone with info on this please respond. thank you.

Sounds like a nerve in your neck is being pinched or irritated and it is traveling down your arm. I have degenerative disc disease and have nerve damage from it in my left arm all the way down. The way I found out what I had was the symptoms you described. See an Orthopeadic Surgeon, you will likely go through a battery of tests, MRI, CT scan, EMG tests and they will determine if it is going to get worse.........or is muscular. Good luck.
