I think I would have laughed in his face if I were you. Sounds like Prince Charming should come down a few rungs on his ladder of life.

He was looking for someone to "further" boost his ego. You were being honest and in a tactful , respectful way therefore wouldn't be considered offensive. I, myself, have had a few men over the years, ask similar like questions.. At first, like you , I questioned myself, was I rude? should I have answered differently ? etc etc. But after a few times, I became offended ....that any man, would think that I have nothing better to do in life than boost his ego. To ask such a question, putting someone in an awkward position..is RUDE. And I don't hesitate in saying so...nipping those questions right away. My usual answer is "don't flatter yourself" and I make a quick get away.

What you said was not offensive. It would have been wrong for you to volunteer this information (your honest opinion) since it wasn't kind, but if he asked for it...well, you get what you get when you ask for it! If he didn't want to hear the truth, he shouldn't have asked the question.
If he got all **that** upset about it - the opinion of a virtual stranger, really! - it's probably just because he's got a small p*nis. Don't worry about it!

If you asked someone for any reason if they thought you were hot and they said you had a fat *** and no ****, wouldn't you be offended? Sounds like you weren't rude about it, but it's the same concept. He was also stuck up or looking for reassurance of his hotness. What you said wasn't offensive, but it wasn't the answer he was looking for so he got defenisive. Makes sense doesn't it?

haha no he thought he was hot stuff and thought he could get any girl. its awesome that one girl like you told him otherwise. Someone with and ego like that needs to be brought back down to earth and put in the real world.... one day he will be old and unattractive so he will have to realize he is not a gift to all girls. Good job and you were so not rude, in fact keep being truthful with those kind of people.

I'm sure he had done his very best to look good that day and wanted some approval. He probably wanted you to play along and flirt with him.
While you weren't technically in the wrong, your answer was a bit cold hearted. He wasn't asking you on a date, just your opinion on how he looked. He probably liked you.
Like I say though, you didn't do the WRONG thing because you weren't interested in him or in flirting with him. He probably shouldn't have asked that question.

Some people are so into themselves that they can't handle the truth when it isn't what they want to hear. Being honest isn't being offensive, it's just being honest. Some times the truth hurts and some people just can't handle the fact that not everyone feels the same way about them as they do.

No, he's just a dork. everone have there own perception of attractiveness. What's attractive to me may not be attractive to you or the next person but that's what makes the world go around. It's called an opinion and everyone knows that an opinion is never wrong.

The guy was asking for it. He suffers from some kind of personality disorder or else he wouldn't need your confirmation.
On another note, why are you concerned? People shouldn't ask questions they don't want the answer to. (ex. Q: Do I look fat in this dress? A: Yes!) It's not like you told him he was hideous.

He needs to get over himself. You did not say anything offensive. He expected you to say he was hot and the reason he got mad is because he had a big blow to his ego. It's a good thing though, maybe he'll see he's not as great as he thought he was!

First off.. anyone insecure enough to ask another person if they think they are "hot" is just not even worth your time in worrying about. Secondly, if he did not like your response perhaps he should not have asked the question in the first place. Lastly, perhaps I would have asked him "what is the answer you are looking for here.. so I can decide if I can give it to you or not"
