A great natural remedy is ginger. It comes in plenty of forms, from teas to crystilized - so it shouldn't be hard to find one that will work with your child's tastes.
Ginger is ideal in soothing stomach aches. I've been using it since I was ten when I developed an ulcer.

Dear mom,
When you want to give your son a remedy for his stomach ache you first want to know where the pain is in the abdomen and what the cause is. If it is Right Lower abdominal pain it can be appendicitis, there is no cure as I know so far as going to the surgeon/ ED and have it removed. If he has diarrhea it can be stomach flu. If it is a regular returning pain it can be stress.
With children love, attention and acceptance is always a good start. Often stomach aches with children can be a sign of stress and it takes patience to figure out what is going on. Every medication also over the counter has side effects, so I am very careful to give any medication. Also I want to know what the cause is, as pain is a signal of something that is wrong at that moment. If I suspect an infection viral of bacterial, I use Oil of Oregano as it is anti viral/ bacterial/ yeast/ fungal and parasite so Iit will kill them all. Acidophilus can never harm in the form of capsules or a liquid (keep it in the fridge other wise the quality is gone). Kefir is also an excellent form of acidophilus to help indigestion, GERD or any upset stomach. Be sure to have him on a healthy diet. Good luck Pieternel

I have a nine year old myself and when his stomach hurts I give him a teaspoon of pepto bismol and put some crackers on his nightstand. However, if it hurts like every day and the pain gets worse, you might need to seek medical help.

Mint tea is an excellent aid for all kinds of stomach ailments. Ginger is also heavily used for this purpose -- you can buy ginger ale and stir the fizz out. This will help too.
