Wow...my friends, another good example...I picked up an illegal immigration topic recently, I got a response froma rather angry mexican person-(I'm guessing by the reaction).
Ahem...*coughthisperson'saracist*

"because you all white people , going to be nothing whitout a Mexican or latin people , cause you are lazy people, who don't like to do the job that the mexican do and thats why you eat fresh vegetables and meat. if we stopped to work you are nothing....`! "
I prefer this person moves back to whereever the heck they came from. Anyone with me?

The pro ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER folks use the race card as they have no fact or reason behind their anti-Law views

That quote is DEFINITELY racist! And silly in other ways as well. First, economists have proven that retail produce prices would hardly change even if labor was $10/hr. The store price is about TEN times what the farmer is paid, so if a head of lettuce is $1 at the store, the farmer was paid about a dime to fourteen cents.

So, sorry, but prices would only increase maybe 3 or 4 per cent if suddenly enforced our laws.

If these people are coming here to work (and I know many that certainly do NOT work) why?

Why is there no work in Central America and Mexico? Because of a serious inability to manage; my Mexican-American friends came here (legally) because they know Latin cultures have a problem developing trust between management and workers. For some reason, the slightest power or authority turns them into grizzlies whose job is to crack the whip.

So, they (my friends who followed the law and came to the U.S.) are amazed that our government is letting this happen. If one country should be learning from the other, the southern ones should be learning from the U.S. Not the other way around. Many Hispanic Americans have started pro-legal, anti-illegal immigration organizations.

Any of you still genuinely thinking these people are just coming here to make a better life for themselves (as I used to say till my neighborhood was invaded and destroyed) are probably too far from the problem.

Do yourself and America's future a big favor and rent an apartment in an all illegal-immigrant complex. Live there every day for at least 6 months. Then come back to Q&A. All but the staunchest of you will be reformed.

I think that latinos or those who are from a spanish decent come to America to work. As far as white people being lazy...I do not think it is just white people I think it is the culture of the U.S.A. period we never want to do something for ourselves that involves manual labor. Africans were brought over here against there will to do manual labor. Spanish speaking people came to our country by choice. They choose to work and yes Spanish people have a better work ethic than SOME Americans, because thier culture is different were they are from and they do not mind a little hard work. As far as everyone in America being lazy I think that we are getting to that point..i.e. calculators, cellphones with MP3 players and cameras, dishwashers, shoot the interent, e-mail (what ever happen to writing a letter). So many things have contibuted to making out culture "lazy" in that manner we are lazy but I still think that some of us are not afraid of a little hard work.

I'm with you. Because the Mexican or Hispanics would also be nothing without the American people. Americans create jobs for the Mexicans so it goes in a cycle. And just because Americans aren't really industrius doesn't mean that they won't do it. And what does fresh vegetables and meat have to do with anything. Mexicans you're lucky to be in a country that accepts you, if you're a legal immigrant, and without White people you would be nothing. .........yeah

All I can say is Id be happy to pay any amount for produce if they would leave so i didnt have to pay there bills, MYTH: Americans won't do the work that illegals do.

TRUTH: Prior to 1965 when the disastrous Immigration Bill was passed, there was very little immigration. In fact, between 1925 and 1965, there was even a period of net emigration out of the United States. During this time, our grass was getting cut, our meat was being packed, our children were being watched and our houses were being cleaned. The idea that somehow we suddenly can't run a country without an unlimited supply of foreigners is absurd.

Those in favor of foreign labor are corporations who are addicted to cheap labor. They are the ones who are benefiting. But their benefit comes at the American tax payer's expense when you consider that the American tax payer is virtually subsidizing the labor costs of the greedy corporations by supplying the illegal foreign workers and their families with welfare, free education, free medical, WICs, housing assistance, etc. -- something the corporations won't do.

Americans won't allow themselves to be exploited like illegals do, but they WILL do the work that illegals do for fair compensation and benefits. If Americans did the work that illegals do at higher pay, would that benefit the consumer? You bet it would in the long run. But many Americans who do not care about America's future are consumers who favor the idea of exploiting illegal workers because it keeps commodity and service prices down in the short term.

I'm completely with you. We're not lazy, we decide to get educations and higher paying jobs. They could do the same if they came here legally and learned the language. By the way thanks Maria and Paco for the fresh vegetables ; )

Sounds as if he's fallen victim to the propaganda put out there by all the politicians who need their vote. Anyone who believes America would implode if all the illegals were sent back, simply has no comprehension about the will to survive as a nation.

I agree, move back! I don't care what country you go to, of course there will be lazy people. But look at our nation compared to others. There is a reason that you are the greatest nation in the world. Lazy, HUH!

I agree....if they don't like the American way, they can get out. And they are not the only ones that are producing fresh meat and veggies for us to consume. I think that person also forgot that white people are not the only group residing in this country. Furthermore, he should not be calling others lazy when he can't even be bothered to use the Caps Lock or take time to form a proper sentence.

It would cost us much less without the illegal aliens. Cost increases for food would be minor. Cost savings to taxpayers would be enormous! We could actually pay for things for citizens for a change.

People keep saying this is a race issue. It's not. It is about obeying the laws of this country.
