I usually put it down to those call centres. The numbers are generated by computers, and then there aren't enough real ppl to answer all the calls.

If it is a number I don't recognize then I assume it was a wrong number. If its someone I know I call them back and ask what the heck they're doing.

wouldn't give it a second thought, then again i spend a great deal of time phoning folk and hanging up, so it's not as important to me

Caller ID comes in handy for things like that.

why don't you dial 1471?
Also have with held numbers blocked then no problem.
