Oh, sure. They'll have scientists who excavate the Washington Monument and call it Isengard. And they'll find more proto-human "hobbit" ancestors, possibly some H. Neanderthal for the trolls, Australia for Valanor...I can even see the futuristic equivalent of Y!A on which they will attempt to prove it incessantly.

Thank you for pointing this out... I've been using the Lord of the Rings in my arguments. I wonder if I should switch - most people haven't heard of the silmarillion (and with good reason - some of it is as boring as the actual bible)

Absolutely I think that is possible.
got to confess I never made it through the Silmarillion. Tried a few times. Have read LOTR at least a dozen times, but just got bogged down in the Sil.

No because hundreds of thousands of years from now there wont be the Silmarillion for anyone to look at and there passably wont be anybody around either. BB

It is certainly as well founded and believable of a story as the Bible, and a good deal better edited.

lol. Actually, Star Wars would be a better example but, given the behavior of people on here, its entirely possible.

the apostles DIED for spreading the Gospel of Christ!! I don't think that any person in real life died for any of JJR novels. that is why there is no credibility in his stories unlike Christianity. Christianity is based on real history with real people, not some made up story.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit.
It's what they did with the bible!
Ah, for just one splendid walk through Lothlorien...
