I don't see your reasoning. India HAD a Hindu-supremacist government a few years ago - their dream of "shining India" failed, and the people of India voted for another party to run the country. Today India has a Muslim President and a Sikh Prime Minister.
Choosing a government on religious grounds wouldn't end terror - the only way to end terrorism is to treat peoiple fairly and with justice.

If you go back in time the word Hindu has been derived from the word - Indus. People who lived near the Indus river were known as hindoos. It was originally only a way of life.
Religions across the world have started in a similar manner. The objectives of religious organizations were not the same what they are today. The whole civilization is an evolutionary process. As such the functions and workings of religion will also change with time. Today religion is very much involved with power struggle and has many political implications due to the power hungary religious leaders.
As far as terrorism is concerned it is just part of the human animal instincts - the good and evil has existed from time immemorial. There is opposite of everything in this world - almost evrything. With good co-operation and good rules of conduct and good citizenship you can have these activities within a controlled barrier. Complete elimination - it is just a wishfull thinking.
Therfore naming a country as a Hindu state would not accomplish anything. Isn't that the reason why Pakistan was created in the first place. How much of an ideal situation it is in ?

I am Hindu. I hope India NEVER turns into a Hindu state. Didn't we learn any lessons from Islamic states? Only with separation of church and state will create peace. If you merge church and state, lots of people (Hindu and non-Hindu) will get hurt and terrorism will increase 100x. You will repeat the mistakes of other religions and force others to follow your beliefs. You cannot force someone to believe anything---beliefs come from within the person. Be proud that Hinduism is one of the few religions left that has not yet made this mistake!!

No, because their is nothing like Hindu state. Even if Hinduism becomes the official religion of India it can not be seen as a Hindu state because Hinduism respects all religions and allows everybody to live in their own faith and reach God in their own way.

Hindus in India has lost their self respect to consider themselves as a political class. That is their biggest undoing.
