It is not the desire of the US to subdue Iraq.
Isn't it a bit cold under that rock?

150,000 is not enough, as i have been sayiung for quite some time, we need to send 500,000 troops to Iraq.
the fastest and safest way out of iraq is to get further in.
500,000 stops the insurgency
500,000 send a strong message to Iran and to Syria
500,000 will be a plus to the US economy
in order to send 500,000 to iraq, we need to start a new draft, not like the old one at all, but a required commitment from every individual, males and females for two years of service between the ages of 18 and 28. the only one that would be exempt would be Teachers and Firemen, and if you are exempt, you have to reamain a teacher or a fireman until you are 28.
two years of service is not much to ask for a lifetime in the United States.
you may ask how we will pay for this, and i ask you how can we not afford to do this..

just that many young boy's kilt. I'm leaning towards 3 new countries split up amongst the different factions and let them all have there own country. That way it will stop the insanity and killing. The way it's goin now is not a fight against the American troops that are deployed there, it is a fight amongst the different factions. The suicide bombers are driving in to private citzens in Irag and killing innocent people and they claim it's in the name of Ala. 3rd world countries, 3rd world thinking. They think killing their fellow man will give them a place in heaven, what ever their heaven is. The pooe innocent women, children, an husband's that are trying to go about living a normal life are kilt. You can't win a fight like that. It would reguire stopping all vehicel traffic. Now we can talk about the suicide bombers with explosive straped to their bodies. Theres nothing more that the bomber would like than to be searched at an American check point so he can explode hiself to kill these young american soldies, again, to have his place in heaven for fighting a Holy war. If someone can figure out a way to stop this, please come foward. You have open quite the forum and good luck and I hope you get some intellegent reply's. Mikie.

Actually it would take in all reality 450,000 more and maybe it could be done. In any case where do we get 150,000 more troops we can't even get the paltry 25,000 the president wants except by holding troops being rotated out and including the replacements to temporarily inflate the numbers of troops. So what you want to do is simply not possible.

And Sir, with all due respect, from where are you going to get an additional 150,000 men?
The U.S Armed Forces is stretched thin across the globe with a shrinking and inadequate suplly of reserve manpower.
Also, I find your idea of Iraq as a state...hypocritical. There is a host of problems...from find a space to put an additional star on the flag to...defending that lonely "state."

Are you insane?
America's police and military aren't even allowed to subdue Americans that break the law without two dozen civil rights attorneys suing the government for infringing upon people's rights.
Let's start by putting 150,000 soldiers to work in the US by removing and keeping out illegal immigrants, and move forward from there.

Tell y'what: you s h i t us a money tree and we'll consider it. No, better make that a whole bleedin' FOREST of money trees, given how abysmally the guv'ment has managed the billions and billions of dollars already allocated for the war in the sandbox! Billions of dollars, and nothing to show for it. And Bushdummy wants a "troop surge"????? Gimme a break!

Most probably a good idea. That ought to do the job. But then again the Dems wouldn't have much to ***** about then. They would be relegated to complaining about domestic issues and that is not nearly as exciting----not to mention a serious lack of face time on the tube.

Why don't you use a sledge hammer to kill a fly? The right tool for the right job. I don't know if 20,000 or 150,000 is right, but I'm not a military expert. We have to trust that our leaders know what they are doing. If not, then we remove them by voting for someone else. It's a brilliant system.

If you remember the old "Get Smart" shows, you would know Chao has a "Nude" bomb. We should pull our troops out and drop a couple of these. All Iraqis, stripped of clothing and weapons, should bring an end to the fighting....
