Spanish is not easier than French. I have a lot of difficulties learning Spanish and I'm a French speaker.
You should choose yourself which language you want to learn. Maybe you should hear how each language sounds to see which one you prefer and read books about each culture.

I dont know why they seem to think that spanish its easier then french, both languages are the same.. and the amount of irregular verbs on spanish are incredible!.. anyway, dont mean to scare you, any language you take its going to be a challenge; Im a spanish teacher and its my mother language; I am studing french as well and between they are very much alike and they work almost the same.
Depends on what you want really and what you may use in the future; spanish its growing in importance and its spoke in more countries, specially in the states; but french has its own beauty.
If you still are a little undecided, then go for the culture you are more interested in, it will help you when you struggle, even if you are interested in lets say, italian, its always good to learn another language YOU like. Dont worry about the future so much, you will always find it usefull.

Both are great languages, you have to see which one would you need more, for example, French is spoken of course in France, Canada and other coutries in Europe, but also in so many counties in Africa. Spanish in almost all Latinamerica, and Spain. If you wanted to go to study or work out of your country, where would you like to go? analize it and that can help you decide too.
French and Spanish have more similar grammar structures with each other than English with one of the others, that´s why at the beginning you could have a little trouble leaning them, but you´ll do it fine don´t worry.
The two languajes are useful, learn one languaje now and later the other. In my opinion both are difficult, but probably Spanish is easier with the pronunciation. My 2° languaje is English, and my 3° is French :) good luck! hope this help you.

Spanish is easier. I took spanish and ended up needing French later in life. Out of the two languages, I like spanish better, but French is so much more impressive, and Paris is a blast to go visit!

A great deal depends upon what you want to do with the language. Spanish is very useful in communicating with a large number of people in the West, such as those in Central and South America, as well as in Spain. If you anticipate a career with interests in these places Spanish might be the better choice. If you enjoy reading history and the exploration of the roots of some English words, I would suggest French.
The best bet may be Latin, if your school offers it, as this will give you the background to easily learn either of the others, or both, should you choose to do so later.

I think that Spanish is easier to learn & speak & it's a really good & useful language nowadays and almost everywhere. The French language is fun too but its grammar is really hard but when you get used to it,it's fun.
If I were you,I'd learn Spanish better and if I had time or in the summer vacation,I'll try to know more French.
Anyway, whatever language you'll learn,it's always going to be useful and fun.

Spanish would be more practical in the Western Hemisphere.
A knowledge of French has more respect and prestige around the world, though.
Go for French; it's a tougher relative of Spanish, and if you learn French first, you'll pick up Spanish in a few months.

Ok Scottie,
Ask yourself, "Do you plan to visit or live in France or Canada any time in the future?"
If the answer is yes, then take french.
If you don't and you will live in the US of A then take spanish.
The reason is simple. There are many latinos and hispanics in your backyard and if you don't speak spanish you will be lacking skills in the real world. A bilingual candidate who speaks the language of the minority with the majority will always have the upperhand over you.
Me entiendes, chiquito?
