I can kind of understand the no kissing in public thing because of the get-a-room mentality of some viewers/witnesses, but holding hands, arms around each other, etc. ???? I would sit him down, with no tv, radio or anyone else around -- very private setting -- and talk it out with him to find out the "real" reason. Let him give you his reasons for not wanting to and then MAKE him listen to your reasons for wanting to. If you really care about someone, you should be able to talk to them about anything and everything and how it makes you feel and vice-versa. Good/great communication between couples saves a lot of relationships!!!! Do it and good luck!!!

He is probably shy or was raised in a family where emotions and displays of affection weren't the norm. My boyfriend is the same. He turns beat red if I kiss him in public. He is 39, so I don't think this will change, so I have to live with it.

There are two possible reasns for this. First and worst, he just doesn't want to be seen as dating you in public. Is he affectionate in private and do his friends know you're dating? If yes then you probably don't have a problem. Second, and slightly better, he could just be uncomfortable getting mushy in public. He wouldn't be the first guy to have a problem with it. Talk to him and compromise on say, holding hands in a semi private place so you feel better and he won't be too uncomfortable

It does seem a little extreme, but I don't think there is anything wrong. Some guys are just like that. They want to keep the affection for private times, or he may even just be shy or uncomfortable when other people are watching.

It's totally a cultural thing OR the way he was raised. People whose parents drill into them that PDA is disgusting will generally grow up to be the same.

OR he already has another girlfriend and doesn't want anyone to see you two together!

My husband is not big on PDA, but he grew up in a different country and that's the way it was there. But he does try because he wants me to know he loves me.

Some men get excited very easily when they are touching their woman. You can always ask him. I did and that is the answer that I got and it is true.
