Tens of thousands killed in Iraq, the missed opportunity to capture Bin Laden, torture, warrantless spying, prisoners without trials/charges, stem cell policy, gay marriage, abstinence only, the office of faith-based initiatives, anti-environment, pro-oil, tax cuts for the rich...

How much of this has been influenced by his religion?

Correlation not causation, he has a personality that would lead to all the classic mistakes he has made and ALSO to believe in an authoritarian god.

Actually very few of the issues you mentioned have anything at all to do with President Bush's religious stance. Stem cells-yes, faith based initiatives-yes, all the other ones-no. To give you credit though, this was a pretty slick way to slip some Bush-bashing into a supposedly legitimate question. People don't have to agree with the man's principles or actions, but they need to understand that at least he has principles, and is guided by something other than the front of his pants like Bill (wild guy) Clinton. Nice try, but the question is little more than an attempt (not a very good one) to get some more anti-Bush sentiments stirred up, like there's not enough here already. Have a nice day.

It's hard to say without knowing him if his decisions are based on his religion or his morals. Christians don't believe in gay-marriage, pre-marital sex or abortion, but I think a non-Christian person could feel the same way about these issues so it's not necessarily religion.

When did he miss the opportunity to get BinLaden? Regarding the spying (I assume you mean the phone wire taps), I don't know why people have a problem with that, it's obviously to prevent terrorism, it's not like the CIA wants to listen to someone's conversation with their friend about the cute guy in school.

I honestly believe Bush is doing everything possible to try to protect our country against future attacks. I don't agree with the war in Iraq but aside from that I think Bush is right-on. He's tough on terrorism and he is trying to keep this country from being any more immoral than it's already getting.

Bush is a Republican, so most of his record is because his party stands for the rich getting richer on the backs of the poor. And they want the votes of the conservative Christians so they favor ideas that they know that this group will like. It has nothing to do with Bush's own beliefs. It is all about Politics. They can't tell the people straight out that they are pure Capitalist, so they have to get votes by deceiving the people. And the best way to do that is to take a hot button issue like Gay marriage and make that the top political issue so that their party will get votes from people who are too naive to understand and think the issue is one thing when it really is another (the Republican "hidden agenda"). Also in the case of Bush we sadly have the fact that he is a man who has fried his brain on alcohol and drugs and is no longer able to THINK rationally.

Honestly, most of it is his big-business cronies. The war in Iraq was over oil, as was the whole anti-environment thing. Not finding Bin Ladin was because we were too busy in Iraq. The tax-cuts for the rich were to help is buddies in the business world. The spying and torture was stuff they've done in the past (I'm sure) but he just got caught. The only stuff to do with religion is the stem-cell/abortion issue, the gay marriage issue, abstinence and faith-based initiatives. Those are definitly his religious backgrounds. But the majority of his mistakes were business-related.

His religion has nothing to do with what he has done. Perhaps blame the media sometimes carry wrong news which inflame many for nothing. Maybe Bush has read a lot of threats against his country or against the religion he believes. So what he has done are the fault of people who were not careful with words. He was influenced by these and acted this way. Yes, his informers were not true and these are the very things I said had given him false alarm. So how can his religion be blame. If he is a Christian, his religion teach him even to love his enemies. This is problem for you and me. Bush does think he is doing things for the good of his country, his people and the world.

You do realize that Bush is only one person...There are tons of people in the government make choices and Bush since he is only one man has advisors...so believing that Bush being out of the picture would make the problems stop is just being ignorant, and his religion has no more influence on policies then anyones elses religion.

Isn't it true that all of our major decisions is strongly influenced by our religion, by our world view? We know he is a member of the Skull and Bones society. Is this compatible with true belief? What is his religion? I think we can say everyone has one, even if it might be a bit vague. Any further questions would get more that a little pejorative.

Thou shall not kill. Isn't that someplace in that book they read? Bush W. Jr. is using his religion all of the time. Bush W. Jr. makes Jesus do the "earmuffs" thing from Old School and blindfolds Him when there's a war on. And then Bush W. Jr. briefs Jesus about how abortions are only killing babies, not saving them from a life of neglect and complete confusion. He uses religion in every breathe he takes, and will take until after he dies. "and I hope it comes soon" -Dylan, Masters of War

I am quite anti-Bush W. Jr., but the only difference between him and JFK is that he's not a good speaker and can't keep a secret.

I imagine that there is some influence from his religion, but large numbers of his co-religionists do not behave the same way.

There have been comments made about his being a "dry drunk," which is an addict or alcoholic who has not had treatment, and therefore does not understand the sort of things that addiction makes people prone to. This may also be a factor.

There has also been speculation as to his Oedipal problems and his need to out-do his father.

There are probably multiple factors contributing to Mr. Bush's wordview.

You are evaluating President Bush by your own standard. It is not easy to be a president at war times. President will go down the history as one of the best presidents of this nation. What religion do you have, or you do not have any at all?

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
