Like when I look at myself in the mirror I look "ok" but in a video or photo I look alot different-not so "ok"? Which one is the real ME? Is my own perception of myself so skewed and if so, how can I rectify it? I just wanna see things as they are..not thru clouded judgement?

This sounds like perhaps body dysmorphia to me, and it's very common and treatable with therapy and group support.

It's normal to see yourself differently in photos/video than in the mirror. Flashes, resolution etc. can make our faces look completely different than how we see them in the mirror.

I can really relate to you. My mother told me I had a problem with self perception and i can tell you from experience that if you don't feel good about yourself then it will show. We are our own worst critics. It's easier for us to see the beauty in others but not ourselves. Funny how you can look at a stranger (model) in a magazine and see them as flawless but look at a picture of ourselves an name off a grocery list of negative critiques about our selves. try loving and accepting yourself a little bit more. Look in the mirror more. Then if there are some things YOU want to change then change them. Get involved with yourself.

Anytime you are on film, you are larger than you think, because the perception on the lens is not "thin". The mirror shows us one size but the camera another. =o)
Even thin people think they are fat on film.
Good Luck and its not your mind playing tricks on you!
