I have had a lump right behind my left ear for about 2 years. Gradly over the last 6 months it has gotten bigger. About three weeks ago, my ear starting hurting along with my head and the back of my neck, I have also had the feeling of a lump in my throat off and on, sometimes I have a hard time breathing. I went to the doc, he said I have an ear infection and a swollen lymph node and put me on antibiotics. The only thing that has changed is my ear feels a little better. (I get probably 2 - 5 ear infections a year and I had them a lot when I was younger) What should I do now?

always trust your intuition when it comes to things with your health and well-being. Firmly tell your doctor what you think. Then get another doctor's opinion. If you don't get the results you want, go directly to the hospital and speak with the people there. Remember, and remind your doctor that doctors Have been wrong before.

If you feel that your doctor is wrong, then go and get a second opinion elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with that at all. You might even try seeing a specialist. Like an "ears and throat" doctor. You should actually be able to do a search on Yahoo. Good Luck!

I think your doctor was right, the ear infections......that's seems to be an ongoing thing for you. Often when you are young they will put tubes in your ears to drain the excess fluids, possibly could be done as an adult? The lymph gland will take a couple weeks before you see much difference, be patient. Good luck.

Get a second opinion. I had a friend this happened too. The first doctor said it was just hormones. The second and third said it was cancer. Do what this doctor says to do and take for now but get a second opinion as soon as possible.

What did the doctor say about the lump? Did you mention it to him? If you mentioned it, and he didn't respond in some manner, then it's time for a new doctor.

Doctors are human ....so they can be just as wrong as the rest of us.You are the only one who can protect yourself physically. You know your own body.See another doctor and get some peace.
p.s. hope it's nothing major.
