Make a gift card urself. Draw , paint, or if u cant either, then use stickers etc. Write a sweet note inside which shows u appreciate him. Even better paint with glass paints on a plaque or plate that he can display. Write "the world's greatest dad"or something on a mug etc.

You should just give him a VISA GIFT CARD, so that way, he can make the decision of what he wants to spend it on. You can purchase those at Safeway or at any bank. Since he's your Dad, a good amount would be anywhere between $50 to $100. I think $100 gift card is good.

I have a son who is 12, and last year he gave me a gift that scored big points and it cost almost nothing. He bought a pad of sticky notes (different colors) and then took the time to write something nice about me on every single one of them...something like, "Your the best golfer I know.", or "Thanks for being my Dad!". Draw a little picture, think of the smallest little thing he does and thank him for it. My son then stuck them all over the place. I was finding these little notes for weeks...stuffed inside my shoes...in my robe pocket...in my golf bag...on the front door...etc.

Write your dad a letter and tell him how much he means to you! This will make him happier than any gift you could buy. It would be priceless!

If push comes to shove, quality time is always great....take him to one of his favorite restaurants.....Since you know he's an avid jazzman, add to his CD collection....
